The CEW 2013 Beauty Insiders’ Choice Awards

On March 6th, New York’s top beauty aficionados joined Cosmetic Executive Women, Inc. (CEW) for their 2013 Beauty Insiders’ Choice Awards at the Metropolitan Pavilion. RPG was proud to co-sponsor this event that brings together over 2,000 attendees to experience the latest in cosmetics, skincare, hair care, nail care, fragrance and bath and body.

Working with the concept of a shopping mall, we transformed the space using a grand window design. We arranged furniture into modern lounges, created navigational signage and drafted a floor plan for the 600 products being demonstrated.

RPG converted our own lounge area into a playful and sophisticated retail environment around our fictional cosmetic cookie line. With customized fixtures and our trademark red, we shared our innovative design style with attending industry professionals and beauty experts.

The highest honor for the most innovative products, we are thrilled to be part of CEW’s Beauty Insiders’ Choice Awards and eagerly look forward to hearing the winners announced in May.

RPG Sponsors The Fragrance Foundation’s 2013 Indie Award

For the second year in a row, RPG was honored to be the lead sponsor for The Fragrance Foundation’s 2013 Indie Award, which celebrates indie brands for their unique and artistic fragrance launches.

The presentation was held in January as part of the Elements Showcase, an event and tradeshow for scented and design products. Curated to present the most innovative in the industry- from emerging and established brands, buyers and leaders-this two day event is unlike any other in the world of beauty.

In addition to presenting the 2013 Indie Award to Amber Oud by Kilian, CEO Bruce Teitelbaum spoke with attendees about RPG’s journey as an indie company to an industry leader:

“Twenty-one years ago, when I started RPG, we were considered a small indie company.  Design, development and manufacturing of displays fixtures and retails environments were a good match for many industry beauty and fragrance brands.  Creativity, innovation and a unique point of view were the values we lived by.  Young and hungry, possessing a strong entrepreneurial spirit, there was nothing we were afraid to try.  These values help to separate us from larger companies that were unable to think so nimbly and react so quickly to what our clients and retail partners were looking for….

Well, a lot has changed over the past 21 years. Now a global design and manufacturing firm employing 100’s of people though North America, Canada, Europe and Asia, we have grown to be leaders within our business category.  But at the same time that so much has changed, so much has remained the same.  Our core indie values are ones we have never let go off. They are the pulse and livelihood of RPG.  In today’s market place, the young creative spirit seen tonight in so many amazing brands will help to get you noticed.  As your brands grow, work hard to hold on to that spirit, it will make a world of a difference in creating longevity and a loyal following.”

With roots as an indie company, RPG is dedicated to supporting new brands as they develop in the marketplace and are honored to again be part of this special award. We congratulate Kilian on their win and cheer on all the innovators in attendance.

RPG launches Justin Bieber’s Girlfriend

If he was our boyfriend, we’d never let him go. RPG was thrilled to embrace Bieber Fever and partner with Give Back Brands and Elizabeth Arden on the visual displays and retail environments for Justin Bieber’s new fragrance, Girlfriend. Here at RPG, life-size cutouts kept us company as we worked with the talented team of savvy marketers to create displays that were unique and innovative. The large Justin Bieber figure featured on the floorstand is every fan’s fantasy. The display is fashioned after an actual stage and serves as a great backdrop for fans (and various RPG staff members) to take pictures “with Justin”.

RPG Designs, Develops and Manufactures “Hollywood Glam” for CEW Beauty Awards Product Demonstration

RPG was proud to co-sponsor the CEW (Cosmetic Executive Women) Beauty Awards Product Demonstration on March 7th, 2012. Utilizing the expertise gained through years of “building the retail experience,” RPG built a “Hollywood Glam” affair complete with Coca Cola in glass bottles, buttered popcorn and a classic cinema montage. RPG’s EVP, Ellen Friedman, commented: “With thousands of beauty experts experiencing the best new products of 2011—this is one of the most energetic and anticipated events of the year in the beauty industry.” The RPG space came to vintage-lovely life with a pair of white chaise lounges, chrome bar cart, mirrored gold table and of course—a red carpet.

RPG has been a co-sponsor of the event for more than ten years. With updated logos for both CEW and RPG, a return to the glamour of an awards ceremony was in order. Event attendees were greeted with images of Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Fred Astaire. Lounges were furnished with plush red velvet couches, red roses, white plumes of ostrich feathers and retro-inspired decanter centerpieces. Rich Turkish carpets helped to set the scene for an enchanting evening of beauty.

The Product Demo event was host to over 620 beauty products representing over 300 brands. Voting for the various categories opened on February 29th and will continue through March 21st. 140 finalists will be chosen across 29 categories, with Nail being newly added. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony luncheon on May 18th, 2012.

RPG Designs and Builds the new Men’s Ray-Ban Shop at Bloomingdales, 59th Street

RPG is proud to announce the completion and opening of a sunglass boutique for Ray-Ban Sunglasses at Bloomingdales Flagship store, 1000 Third Avenue, New York City. RPG’s CEO, Bruce E. Teitelbaum, noted “Customization of retail environments is critical for the success of brands in a department store setting. In order to give brands a personal identity and get them noticed, designers must continue to the push the envelope and develop unique ideas.”

The boutique is the first to incorporate multiple scrolling electronic ticker signs that add movement and excitement and identifies the different categories of frames for easier navigation. The messaging can be easily updated to modify the copy, color, and tempo.

The new boutique includes overhead illuminated signage, a polarized video display, mirrors and will carry multiple collections offered by Ray-Ban. The use of powder coated steel, custom painted glass and clear acrylic creates a contemporary modern appearance that further reinforces Ray-Ban’s commitment to quality, technology and contemporary style.
