FIT Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing & Management Class visits RPG

RPG was thrilled to host The Fashion Institute of Technology’s Master’s in Professional Studies, Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing and Management class of 2012 for an evening of immersion into retail marketing and visual merchandising. A think tank of innovative leadership, the MPS CFMM program provides advanced education for emerging executives, fostering both creative and analytical business skills. The program is designed for individuals working in cosmetics, fragrances, and beauty-related areas who have been recommended by their employers because of their strong management potential.

Dr. Brooke Carlson, Assistant Professor of MPS CFMM, reached out to RPG to share our expertise of retail design that captures consumers, optimizes product placement and turn, and ultimately increases ROI. We kicked off the evening with an overview of what we know to be the most important piece of visual merchandising, communicating the brand aesthetic. From there, we emphasized budget compliance, versatility, project management and ever-so-critical education and entertainment. We engaged the students in a game of “Guess the Brand,” where we showed some of our work with blocked-out branding and logos. The students were 100% correct, 100% of the time! We ended the evening with a hands-on interactive creative briefing and lively dissection of a display unit that will imminently go to market.

RPG is proud to partner with FIT, and we eagerly look forward to our next class. We applaud the MPS CFMM program and its impressive group of future beauty industry leaders.
