Retail Design and Construction

RPG created an exciting, unique, and complete top-to-bottom new store concept for CVS. The design fully considers customer navigation and experience at its core. A key driver of the design approach was to ensure CVS gets credit for its large product assortment that is now displayed in a far more accessible fashion.

The client journey is enhanced through use of color and materials that create an intuitive way to navigate the space from aisle to pharmacy to check out. Custom-designed gondolas offer full flexibility in shelf application. No longer confined to standard configurations, the shelves may be adjusted up, down, left, and right for optimal merchandising and shopping. Additionally, the endcaps contain shelves that open and close to meet each store’s specific stock and display requirements.

The modernized flooring also serves as a roadmap to navigate traffic flow. An updated, neutral color palette pays homage to CVS’s heritage brand identity while softening the overall appearance of the space. Distinctive touches such as clear and coherent magnetic signage, slated wood wall panels, custom wallpaper, video accents, and soft lighting create a layered, inviting, and easy environment.
